Description
"Varanasi" takes it's name from the two tributaries of river Ganga namely Varuna and Asi. It may be more in focus today, being our popular prime minister Narendra Modi's parliamentary constituency, but it has always been the ultimate pilgrimage spot for Hindus for ages.
Varanasi, the oldest living city in the world is famous for its ghats and temples dating back to the medieval era and also the fact that the revered river Ganga is located in this city.
We wanted to encapsulate this essence of Hinduism and spirituality through our painting. Painted in acrylic on canvas, mounted and framed in wood the painting has relief elements done in fibre.
